Diners, Drive-ins and Dive: Aldo's

In Santa Cruz California, there is a local's favorite restaurant called the Aldo's. It also turns out to be another restaurant featured on the Food Network TV show called Diner's, Drive-ins and Dive.
カリフォルニア州のサンタクルーズという街に「Aldo's」という地元人気レストランがある。実はアメリカのフードネットワークの「Diner's, Drive-ins and Dive」の番組で収録されたレストランでもある。

We were visiting our extended families in California for the Christmas and New Year and we decided to take a short trip to Santa Cruz.
年末年始にカリフォルニアにいる親戚を訪問していて、サンタクルーズにちょいと旅行に行ってみたのだ。

Our new camera has a smile detection capability. Here are the pictures our camera took while we were still getting ready to take a group photo.
この間買った新しいカメラには笑顔を検出し、自動で撮影する「スマイルシャッター」というものがついている。こちらは、１２人で写真をとる準備をするまでにカメラが勝手にとっていた写真達。

Today, Jan 19, is the birthday of renowned French artist, Paul Cézanne.
今日(一月十九日)は有名なフランス画家ポール・セザンヌの誕生日である。

He was said to form the bridge between late 19th century Impressionism and
the early 20th century's new line of artistic enquiry, Cubism. Cézanne was my influence when I studied art years ago.
ポスト印象派として紹介されることが多く、キュビスムをはじめとする
20世紀の美術に多大な影響を与えた名高い画家だ。

Although I'm still green in the field of artistic discipline, I thought I'd pay
a tribute to Cézanne by designing the website main page after him.
未熟である自分だが、そんな彼に弔辞を述べるため
このサイトのメインページのデザインのテーマを彼にあててみた。


I've used images of my own paintings along with
the portrait of Cézanne to create layered image.
セザンヌの自画像と自分が描いた絵を使って色んなレイヤー画を作ってみた。

On this banner, I've artists that were either mentor/predecessors of Paul Cézanne including Camille Pissarro, Alfred Sisley, etc. The catch phrase is "What impresses you?" of which the idea was taken from the artistic movement "Impressionism."

こちらの小さなバナーにはカミーユ・ピサロやアルフレッド・シスレーなどのセザンヌの前任者や師を載せた。キャッチフレーズは「What impresses you?」(あなたに感銘を与える(印象づける)ものは何か?)。もちろんこれは美術及び芸術運動の一つである「印象派」からとっている。


I also updated the FINE ART page of the website.
FINE ARTのページのデザインも更新してみた。

Las Vegas Part XIII: Conclusion

Oh man, this series did go on forever.... let's see.... 7 months? Wao. I'm bad.
よく考えれば、このラスベガスシリーズも長かったな。７ヶ月？ごめん、長過ぎたね。


Anyway, this was my second time in Las Vegas but it still was a good trip...
それはそうと。。。ラスベガスはこれで２回行ったことになるが、今回も楽しかった。


This trip was taken place between my graduation and start of a job. It was nice to spend have long vacation with my wife and son after being so busy with school for the past two years.
卒業と就職の間に行ったべガスだった。学校に行っている間は家族とほとんど何もできなかったため、この旅行は我らにとってとても良いものだった。

We'd go to LV again... maybe in 4 years.
またべガスに行くことになるであろう。。。まぁ、４年後くらいかな？
